The ancient Roman city of Tridentum, splendidum municipium, as the Emperor Claudius defined it in 46 AD, lives underground in the medieval district of “Sas” in the historic center of Trento.
Founded by the Romans in the mid-1st century B.C., Tridentum constituted an important strategic garrison controlling the Adige river valley, which contained the road connecting central Europe and the Mediterranean. In its original layout, it was a regular urban pattern with wide streets crossing at right angles and a wall with towers and a moat. The city was protected on the northern side by the original course of the Adige River.
Mount Altissimo in Nago is the highest peak in the northern part of the Monte Baldo ridge. Near the summit, Rifugio Altissimo - Monte Baldo can be reached in various ways: through beautiful hikes or mountain biking (challenging route), for the lazy ones you can also arrive by cable car (Malcesine-Monte Baldo).
Do you know this picturesque little lake just a few kilometres from Rovereto? Lake Cei is only a twenty-minute drive from Rovereto; after passing through the villages of Pedersano and Castellano, climbing to an altitude of about 900 m, you reach a dense beech forest and, immediately after, as if by magic, the small lake appears.
This Alpine pond is at its best during the autumn with the wonderful colours of the conifers reflected in its crystal-clear waters. Even during the other seasons, its proximity and ease of access allow you to have a Trentino beauty at your fingertips. Highly recommended!
